Just wondering, could this feature be put on a 5 speed ally? sure would be nice to have.

I read of someone doing it, search google for it, might show up there.

I did it. One other guy did too, I will let him respond if he choses to do so. Theres two ways to make it work.

One, to build a mini computer/IC that serves as an up/down counter and logic decoder that returns different NSBU logic to the TCM. Basically fools the TCM into thinking you moved the shifter lever. I designed/built it with a CD4510 synchronous up/down counter IC, an ELM-415 human interface up/down debounce IC, and a 4028 BCD to decimal decoder. Couple 74HCT04 gates too, for a voltage comparitor. Also a couple relays and a lot of soldering and circuit board work.

THe other way is to actually run a 4th gen TCM. There are some issues with this, one is its a little quirky in that you dont get converter lockup, and the shifts are different due to the TCM being in stuck in "default" mode. Cool thing about doing it this way is if you install a 6-speed valve body, you can turn your 5 speed into a 6-speed. I have not done it this way, the other member on here has done a lot more with it than I have, and knows more about this method (the 6-speed tcm conversion)

Im sorry guys I dont mean to be blunt, but I will not do a DIY or answer any questions on how to do this. Not to "talk down" or insult anyone, but Its reallu complicated, and I would literally go insane trying to answer questions on how to do this.
