Ok, I've got a '05 lly D/A, Love the truck and the power. I installed a magnaflow catback system, my question is, if I were to purchase the predator programmer will it hurt the computer on the truck?, if i take it in for service, can they tell that the progammer was used? and will the ally trans handle the mild upgrade in power? Will it affect the On-Star? and will it throw out and codes or activate the chk engine light? I'm pretty mellow with my truck and do not abuse it, just looking for a bit more power, I also tow an 8000lb 25ft trailer about 4 times a year, any help would be appriciated. Thanks

Do it. you won't regret it. Load the 40hp tune and forget it. The 40 tune adds sooooooo much, and is quieter and drives as smooth as stock. I only wish I hadn't waited as long as I did...:o:

Thanks, how about the other concerns I had?? If I needed to take the truck in for warranty work, will they decline to repair if they find out I had the programmer tuned in??

If you have to take it in for warranty work I'd put the stock tune back in the truck. If the dealer really wants to spend some time in finding out if you had another program installed they probably could find it but I wouldn't worry about that. They'd have to have a good reason to go looking. If you follow the directions and pull the correct fuses you shouldn't have a problem with getting the tunes installed. If you go with the 40hp tune you shouldn't have a problem with the allison. Your OnStar should be fine and it shouldn't throw codes unless there is something else wrong.

You will not regret it. I got mine last week and wished i had got it when it came out for the lly. You really should get exhaust gas temperature gauge.

Thanks for the info, I am NEW to this diesel world, first time owner, love the power, but please bear with me, I don't exactly know what an exhaust temp gauge is and if you can give me some pointers on where and how to install it would be helpful. If I purchase the predator for my lly, will I be able to upgrade it if they add more tunes to it?

Don't wait!!! Best mod I have every installed with instant gratification!!! I loaded up the 65 shot and the truck rolls nice....:ro)

Most dealers are to stupid to see if the tune has been changed unless you bring it in for a drivability problem. DO IT!!!!!!!

I sure like mine. The 40 HP tune mirrors the stock tune in drivability, and engine noise, and it really does wake it up some. No regrets here............

Just for fun, I loaded the 65hp tune last night, (i had been running the 40hp tune), and BOY does it make a difference over the 40hp tune. Power was very strong, but I actually thought it was 2 loud, and a lil touchy in first gear (kept spinning tires ;) ), so I put the 40 tune back in. My friend at work has a CC dodge heemi that he wants to race thursday, and I thought i'd bump it up to 65 just to have him covered, but I told him it's totally stock. I don't think I could get by with the 65 tune and have him believe it's stock.

The 40 tune is virtually undetectable other than it runs MUCH better....

it'll be interesting to see how it does with the 40 tune against the dodge. He's got prob a 1500-2000 pound weight advantage, so i'm sure he'll beat me by a few truck lenghts, but it shouldn't be ugly...:p:

Go ahead and run him on the 65 tune. It dosen't sound that much louder and the smoke is very light at that tune. Unless he spends a lot of time around a Duramax he won't know how loud it should sound anyway and the kill will open his eyes. At the same time plead ignorance as to how you won with a stock truck. He'll never know!!!!

I'll keep you guys posted.... He's actually a good guy, and not bragging or anything. Both of us know they are just trucks, but we are both curious which one is quicker. His does feel fairly quick, but maybe i'll just load the big tune and waste his a$$.....:muahaha:

As to the original post subject......load the 40 tune and enjoy. The predator programmer is awesome.. when you go to the dealer, reload the original tune..

your tranny will be screwy for a couple of weeks, but it'll go back to normal and everything will be good again.!

Get it and you will not regret it ):h . I run mine on the 65 hp setting.

Mine seems to be a little different than most of you posting here because mine is louder on the 40 hp setting than it is on the 65 hp setting. Also as much smoke on 40 as 65. Any comments on that?

Look up Kennedy. I just talked to them for 15 drilling and asking questions. Very nice. Very informative.
