I have an aftermarket system with all the goodies in my sig, along with Sirius direct-connected through the back of the head unit. Since day one with this setup, I have had 'background' noise through the speakers when listening to the Sirius or FM radio. This does not happen with CDs. It's not alternator noise, it's more like a crackle/static. I have checked all connections, regrounded everything, and still get the noise. Also the Sirius/FM plays a lot quieter than a CD, which is normal to an extent, I believe.
Now, I have posted somewhere else that I have heard that Alppine doesn't have the greatest FM output compared to say a Pioneer. Is this the case, or is there something else I may be missing? It's not horrible to deal with, but it does bother me knowing that it's happening. I feel that with the few extra $ I spent to make the Sirius sound like CD quality, I should at least be close to CD quality. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance,
Sal
