I noticed some time ago that the downpipe bracket was cracked. I welded it back together only to find it cracked again. I had someone who actually knows about welding reweld the bracket. Is there a better approach to this problem? Pictures?
Thanks!

I had the same problem. I welded the crack then it broke where the bend is. So I just welded both bends to givr it strebght the spot welded one side to the pipe like the newer design is. Its fixed for now.

They all break eventually, but never heard of the break causing a problem. I would just forget about it.

Since I have never seen this happen myself, what is a sympton? Or better yet what should I look and listen for when it does happen?

You wont notice it, Tony. Then one day you're changing your fuel filter thru the wheel well and you say, "WTF?!?!?" IMO, they all will eventually do it due to vibration.
