Anyone know which year(s) are interchangeable for a 2004 D'Max? Probably going to get one out of a wreck to swap with mine. CV joints have been replaced and stealer said it's probably pinion bearings in the differential.

They didn't have parts to repair nor did want to pay for it if they did. He said between $1500-2000:eek::mad:

I hate to swap parts out to diagnose issues but dunno what else to do.

I'm not 100%, but they're all the same as far as I know.

all year HD trucks came with the same diff out front. the price that you got from the stealer is typical for diff work. look up SUMMITRACING or JEGS for the gears you want/need and find a buddy that knows how to set'em up or a good tranny shop nearby to do the work. GM charges like $700-900 for a set of gears that can be bought from SUMMIT or JEGS for like $150-350 depending on case and ratio. tranny shop will probably be about 1/2 to 3/4 stealer price to do install including parts.
