: Please Help!!! Allison no power!
ChevTechAustralia 03-14-2005, 05:59 AM Hi, I am having problems with a 2004 6.6ltr 2500 Silverado. It seams to have no power on take off.like it is in a higher gear. 1st gear. wont even spin the tyres on the grass. The vehicle is completly standard it has 10000km its only 6mths old.And has been the same since new. The vehicle has no codes, the fluid is fine, I have changed the engine & trans computer. I have compared all the Tech2 data with another vehicle same build and features.all the same. I have lack of knowledge with auto transmissions so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
tranytom 03-14-2005, 08:28 AM You could be in limp mode. If the trans is in the third and you've restarted the engine this could mean you have a hard code. So no shift solenoids fire, this is third gear. You gust get in scanned for trans codes

Mike L. 03-14-2005, 11:59 AM Check fuel filter. You state there are no codes; that makes no sense if the Ally is in fact starting out in a higher gear.
mike
ChevTechAustralia 03-14-2005, 04:32 PM fuel delivery seams fine. its not starting out in a higher gear it just feels that way. no power in 1st gear.
Max Power 03-14-2005, 04:36 PM Are you sure it isn't just because the turbo isn't spooled up?
Does it have lots of power after first gear?
They don't make a lot of power until the turbo spools up.
tranytom 03-14-2005, 04:46 PM Fuel Filter!! Water???? Open drain on bottom of filter into a cup check for water diesel foats on water. After you change filter (or drain). You must prime system with plastic bleed screw open. Note! Prime pump is the tin cover on the filter houseing. Pump down till deisel comes from bleeder. Close bleeder & start engine. If engine stalls or does not restart, repeat priming.
Or stator in torque is not work???

ChevTechAustralia 03-14-2005, 04:48 PM I have compared this vehicle to another and this ones got nothing if you take of from an intersection you just make sure the is no cars coming 50 meters up the road. but yes the vehicle seems alright once you hit 2nd gear.
ChevTechAustralia 03-14-2005, 04:50 PM yeah trannytom how can i check the stator in torque is there reading i can see with a tech2?
tranytom 03-14-2005, 04:52 PM Hey
You say since new
Tom
ChevTechAustralia 03-14-2005, 04:54 PM yeah the truck has been this way since new.
Max Power 03-14-2005, 04:54 PM I wonder if the C1 is screwed? Does the motor rev and it doesn't go anwhere or does it just feel like it has not power at all?
ChevTechAustralia 03-14-2005, 04:56 PM no it doesnt rev it just feels like it has no power,
tranytom 03-14-2005, 04:58 PM No
If the stator one way is not working you will have no torque multiplication.
Just make sure your getting tubo boost. This can be checked on a Tech2.
Have to go will check in later to see if anyone has better ideas.
Tom
Max Power 03-14-2005, 04:58 PM I would check to see if there is any boost in first gear. (Check with tech 2)
On edit, trannytom beat me to it.
ChevTechAustralia 03-14-2005, 04:59 PM thanks tom, but yes there is turbo boost.
Mackin 03-14-2005, 05:59 PM Take the E-brake off and ease the seat forward. :D
Hope you get it figured out!If your convinced it's transmission related time to check main line pressure first and proceed.
Mike L. 03-14-2005, 06:25 PM How is the power after you get the truck rolling? Does it pull normally with the converter clutch applied? Put it in Tow Haul and see how it reacts. This might be the first bad stator I have heard of.
mike
tranytom 03-14-2005, 07:50 PM Axle ratio high??
Tom
GMCSID 03-14-2005, 08:17 PM To verify it's not a fuel problem check desired and actual fuel rail pressure while in first gear. Also check gear ratio in first, should be around 3.1.
Wheatfield83 03-14-2005, 08:48 PM Nsbu?
tranytom 03-14-2005, 09:15 PM Code with NSBU S/W No?????
