What size line and fittings are you using?
What size and brand of solenoid?
What are you running as far as programming and what jetting works best for you?

Sorry for the list but im trying to eliminate a whole lot of trial and error. I am racing a 5spd 02 supercharged stang this weekend. I think it dynoed 425ish to the rear wheels. its a good friend of mine, last year he was runnin like 12.80-12.90's. i think he will be using street slicks too. I just orderd rancho rs9000x shocks and im tryin to get my n20 straightened out. I will be stripping the truck down(backseat, toolbox, tailgate,1 battery, spare tire) 1/4 tank of fuel. Anyone think i have a chance or am i gonna be lookin at taillights? wish i had the LP on there, that would make some nice power with a big shot of n2o:lol:

Altitude changes the jetting set up. You could fry this Stang with a little testing on your system. With the Extreme and a large solinoid with no restrictions, it can be easly done. You will have to test a little though. Your ready for the next level.

wonder how much of a difference switching out my tires/wheels to the 285's would make? i know the 325's are like 100+lbs per tire/wheel not sure about the 285's but i know they are considerably lighter.

the 285 should be lighter, I'd make him run street tires since u are or find a road w/ some salt residue.

425 rwhp should get his Mustang up to around 120mph in the 1/4 mile!!!!
Good luck!!!!

I'd be interested to see what everyone else is running for oxide setups and programs. Mine current setup is as below.

15 lb bottle mounted behind back seat
-4 line to solenoid
Modified 16048R NOS (.125 orifice) bottom exit solenoid with purge right before solenoid
-4 to -3 line from solenoid to nozzle
.070 jet (still fine tuning)
custom made nozzle located in a Kennedy Diesel IAH fitting

All set to come on at 1.96volts (TPS activated WOT switch).

Programs are an old Edge 90hp, with a 120hp predator, with propane.

We run the TS powerfool system 2 stages. -6 line feed .Jetting depends on fuel the Xtreme had plenty of fuel .

I would not race it with less then 1/2 a tank. i raced my once with the fuel level between 1/4 and 1/2, and at the launch that truck got air in the line. the truck shut off on me on the top end.:wtf1: I had enough speed to pull of the track, and I couldnt get the truck started, at the time i didnt know what had happened:lol: . never thought that could happen with well over 1/4 tank of fuel :banghead:

where is the preferred place for the bottle in a crew cab short box. can it be mounted under the bed. i dont really wanna put it in the bed but i can. as far as in the cab id hafta run the blowdown tube and thats drillin another hole in the floor. any ideas?

RyanU
03-14-2005, 04:26 PM
how much line should i get to go from the bottle to the solenoid? well i ordered 15' just kinda curious what others used

ratlover

My bottle is going in my in bed tool box and its bottle "blanket" is going to be a old greasy carhart jacket. :secret: People aint going to know what hit em. :muahaha:

Ask Mike L.......I think he has some brakets for under the bed. Or maybe it was SD? You already order your stuff? SD is making some kits and such or is looking into it IIRC.

With some creative fab work You could run your blow down tube out the plastic grate vent thingy between the bed/cab maybe? Save you from drilling holes.

Another list of projects "to do" is to get some string and dummy mount my system so I can order the right lenght lines.

RyanU

yea SD has some good soundin kits but i only need a few parts cause i had a few things get torn up. i dont wanna bust into his kits. well the way i figure 15ft will give me freedom to do what i want. if i have to i can coil the line once or twice under the truck and zip tie it out of the way. that wouldnt hurt anything would it?

ratlover
03-14-2005, 04:43 PM
I talked to him about getting something different than his "kit" and he seemed very open to get me what ever I wanted. Plus he has purdy red bottles:cool:

Measure once and cut twice and if its still too short cut it again. :grd:

Yea SD is a top notch guy when it comes to helping ya out! He's made my life a lot less confusing so far...LOL:grd:

I have the tps switches available. I'll PM you the info.

Also for future reference, these voltage sensing (TPS) switches also can be used in place of a HOBBS switch when tapped into the Boost Sensor wire, or could be tapped into the MAF sensor. Great for water injection setups or what nots..

As for extra nitrous parts, I have alot of single item parts (solenoids, jets in any size, lines, etc.). Just PM me if you're looking for any single items. Not tryin to take anything away from SD, but if it's single items and he doesn't have it, drop me a line. Maybe i'll have what you're looking for.

Ryan,
You can use some cable clamps and M13 bolts to utilize some OEM nuts in the cab to hold the line. Also, if you mounted it in the cab, and use some -8AN line for your blowdown tube, you can get some vinyl tubing that will fit inside the line, and plumb it out the back cab vent.

adaver, what were you running when you beat them? this stang is a little saltier than the new cobras but not much.

i like how u have the set up. did u cut your own piece of wood for that or is that whats back there without the carpet on it?

I took the carpeted folding shelf out (otherwise the tank wouldn't fit with the seats locked upright), without it, there's nothing there, so I cut a cardboard pattern to fit and transferred it to a piece of cherry plywood. The board is (on my truck) 8-1/8" x 57-3/16" and notched on the ends for the cab vents. The hardest part is finding a place in the floor pan to run the supply line through. Where a ran mine, is a TIGHT fit with the seat frame tube.
