: which diesel gets the best mpg? squirrelmasta 10-05-2008, 10:52 AM a guy in one of my diesel mags was getting a self claimed 74 mps with compressed Natural gas injection!!! I think that was in a chevy too but not positive. I put a Van Aaken box on it and it gained 3 MPG in town and out. Now i have injectors in it too, and it picked up another 3 MPG. torqueofthetown 10-14-2008, 03:26 PM A TDI Golf (or rabbit for new cars) should get a mile or two better MPG than the Jetta. I recently drove a new 2009 Jetta with the DSG automatic....very impressive automobile. BTW.... TDI is Turbo Direct Injection ..... which when it came to the states way back in 1996 was a big deal since MB still had IDI diesels in their cars. 87burb 10-14-2008, 06:16 PM My escort (2.0 mazda engine) say 48 city 65 hwy on the brochure... when I bought it the wife says the husband got 56 all the time and this out of a non-computerized diesel.. | ||
