I just got my 2005 2500 HD on friday and its pretty cold tonite so I plugged the engine heater in. it makes a strange noise a few seconds after i plug it in kind of like a fast clicking, and it goes away after i unplug it. Has anyone else noticed this? Is it normal? thanx in advance.:help2: :help2:

Id bet your just hearing the block heater coming on and circulating...Ive yet to hear any noise w/mine, but can hear it on some of the tractors we plug in at the farm...

Plugging it in basically boils down to personal preferance, but these things fire off nicely in the cold (below 0). The only issue is the 15w40 oil that is in these things make it turnover a bit slower. They turn over better with the synthetic 5w40 in it. Just FYI!
