I take my truck to the dealer all the time to get the oil changed. well sins things are going up in price, I feel its time to save myself some money. Now I can change my own oil. Its not hard, But i always took it to the dealer because they put the truck on the rack. I know the tech pretty good so wile hes changeing the oil I check my truck over. check the drive shaft for slop ect. They use Gm 15-40, My truck has 85k on it. My question. Is the gm oil made by mobil? Is it safe for me to change to rotella-t?. reason I ask about rotella is because. I have always heard that rotella is good oil. plus its a little cheaper.

It is Mobil, you can switch to Rotella, it is high quality as well.

GM has converted from their own brand oil to Mobil Delvac going forward.
