Can someone tell me how to do this? I know I have seen it disscussed before on here, but my search brought up nothing.

I thought there was a wiring harness you could buy that would make it plug and play.

When you buy the taillights, try and get the pigtails that go with them, then disconnect your stock pigtails and plug in the new ones. If you decide not to do that, you'll have to splice in to the existing pigtails to put a new socket for the extra bulb, or not run it at all.

And if you're buying the lights from another person and they don't have the wiring, you can buy if from the dealer, though I don't recall how much it is, but it isn't a whole lot considering you get all new sockets.
