Dunno the technical term for it but why does my aftermarket intake retain that plastic box with the 6.6L logo on it? Wouldn't the intake flow better with no holes on the side or areas interfering with air flow in the tube? I don't see any sensors connected to this box?

Someone told me it keeps the turbo whine down......

Yeah I understand the purpose of it on a stock truck... But why keep it with the aftermarket kit? In case some guys want it to remain quiet? Anyone plugged the hole and ran it without the box? I like the sound of my turbo over the clanking sound of a diesel. Lastly plugging the hole still leaves a "pocket" on the side of the tube, which would alter the smooth cylindrical flow. Anyone make a plug to be flush on the inside of the tube, completing the cylinder?

Remove it. Your an 03 it may be a little different but I just flat removed all that, no need for any plug......

? I dunno if you read that right? Or I didn't specify I dunno. Its connected to the tube. That would leave a 1.5-2 inch hole in my intake tube after the filter...
