Read an article in the oregonian a week or two ago...

There is a bill in the state legislature that would mandate distribution of B2 biodiesel statewide. i.e. B2 minimum for all biodiesel sold, bumping to b5 in 2010. It would also mandate 10% ethanol be mixed into all gasoline sold - year round (yuck!).

Tax incentives would be given to grow and produce both ethanol and biodiesel. In local crops - canola and mustard seed can be used for biodiesel?

I read a similar article in the Stateman Journal. It's too bad they are only talking about B2 ...I wish they would start with B20!

I talked to the fine folks at Star Oilco. They told me that Portland was getting a biodiesel production plant in April? This should bring the price down. Currently they are selling B100 for $3.60 per gal.
