McRat 03-13-2005, 01:01 AM I was driving with my spare tire unmounted, with the mechanism (cable) cranked all the way back up. Now I go to lower it, and the cable comes down, but the bracket that holds the tire is still up at the top. Do I just use a pry bar? Max Power 03-13-2005, 01:03 AM I would. I can't remember exactly how I did it but I'm pretty sure I used a flathead screwdriver and was able to push the clip in and pull the middle part out at the same time.
