Does anyone know if all the factory 6 disk changers are the same? Do they all have xm capability? thanks

I don't think the changer has anything to do with xm. As long as the plugs are the same they should work.

My understanding is for XM or Sirius to work...the radio has to have a band button, not just AM/FM.

I'm sorry. I forgot the changer was in the radio. Yes, if you want to use the factory xm you need the radio to be xm capable.

HDpullingpower is correct. Look for a unit that has the "Band" button on the lower left. XM or Sirrius is a separate box located behind the glovebox with a harness that plugs into the back of the radio.

In Canada, XM was not an option at the time of purchase, whether it was equipped with the "band" button or not (as mine was). Is the XM box something that could be acquired as an aftermarket purchase?
