: What kind of EGT temps are normal?

My truck came with an EGT guage already installed along with a boost guage. Under light cruising I think I remember the EGT's are between 400 - 600 when I give it some throttle. I may be a little off since I dont drive my truck that often.

What should I expect?

Find out where the probe is located - "pre" or "post" turbo (look in the "reference materials" Sticky). "Pre" is preferred. Temps will vary, but those numbers sound fine. Max would be about 1200* pre. Post would lower those numbers by 150* - 200*.

OK, I drove my truck tonight for the first time in a while and crusing at 65mph, with a couple pounds of boost, it was steady at 500 deg. If I get on it hard around town, I dont think Ive ever broke 800 deg......and I have some mods? Boost doesnt get above 10 lbs.

I will check the location of the probe, I foget where it is.

Thanks
