I have always used all 5 powerpacks on my Allison builds, but I am starting to think the C-5 clutch kit is a rip off. I know the Red Eagle material is supposed to hold slightly better, but with the same number of clutches as stock, I wondered if it was worth it.......especially since I recently compared the friction width of stock clutches at .752" and the Altos at .740". That is less surface area than stock!
Anyone have thoughts on this.
I notice some builders only use C1-C4 clutches in their builds.

In that case you either ran it out of fluid or you had a pressure problem and continued to hammer reverse. C5 clutches have an easy job and that is to hold the ring gear while the planet revolves. Pretty easy job for a huge set of clutches.

Its not my truck. It is one of my customer trucks with a PPE programmer and a few other things, and I have no idea what it has been through. I was a bit suprised to see them burnt.
