I have a 2001 GMC Crew Cab duramax and I just replaced the injectors in it about a month ago. It ran good for a while until one day it jumped into limp mode. I hook the scan tool to it and it gave me a P0205 (fuel injector control circuit error) and a P1262 (injector positive voltage control circuit group 2). I replaced the Fuel Injector Control Module(FICM) with a used one and got the same codes. A new FICM cost about $650 at the dealer and this one was only $50 used! I don't know if both the FICM are bad or the problem is somewhere else! It only jumps into limp mode at operating temprature! Before it reaches operating temprature it runs fine! Any ideas or help would be greatly appriated!

check the wiring...look carefully around the ficm bracket where the wiring goes near the fuel pressure tes port. It rubs on the FICM right there.

Actually, the more i think about it.... pull the valve cover and tighten the nuts on number 5 injector wiring. One of them is loose.

When it happened i took the valve cover off thinking it might be the injector. I took the wires off the injector and tested it to see if it had an open circuit and it tested good. Then we tested the injector for high resistance and it tested good. I think i tightened the nuts down good but i will check them again!

Could it be that Injector number 2 wire is loose? Would that cause the P0205 to come up sense there in the same group?

Took the right bank valve cover off today and inspected the injector wires that go to cylinder #2! They looked fine until i cut them off of the metal bracket the bolts to the head and they had a couple of small gashes in them! Wires were barely exposed but im thinkin it might have been shorting out! We tested it and it seem to get good continuity but im thinking i may have been rubbing against the metal bracket and shorting out! There was one nut loose on a different injector but i never got a code for that injector! I have to take the left bank valve cover off but i want to see if that may have been the reason for my P0205 and P1262! Where is the best place to get these injector harness?

Nevermind im retarded! I was thinkin that cylinder #5 was on the drivers side! I thought the cylinder order was as same as the gm gas engines. Cylinder #5 is the third one back on the passenger side right? There was one nut loose on that injector! Thanx!

Thanx for all your help! You guys are awesome! I wished i could have figured it out before i wasted $385 for the dealer to tell me it was my FICM.
