Okay, I've tried to search the forum for this but haven't found a similar problem yet. '03 with Banks throughout. I have gone into limp mode three times in three days on the way home from work after stopping at the same stop sign. (Don't tell me to go another way :) It is after coming down a long hill however. I've changed the filter--found some dirt and H20, but nothing excessive. It ran like a top afterwards, but it always does after I let it sit for a while. Then today on the highway it went into limp mode on the flats and then inexplicably it went away--after tons of black smoke when I tried to gun it.
I've taken it to the dealer and they could not find anything wrong. They say there are no codes and they couldn't replicate the problem. They were, however, able to find a leak in the rear seal and get me for a complete rear brake job though.
Oh, and to complete the tale... I had the same limp mode problem 4 years ago when I was on the first day of a 7 week cross country camping trip. The problem then was bad fuel and had to have the tank emptied and cleaned. I discounted that this time because I changed the filter and it didn't look THAT bad.
Any Ideas?

What level are u running on?

I turned the Banks off and even went through the levels--to no avail. Nothing changed the limp mode
