Do you mean that nothing happens (no indicator light) when you push the button?

Many here have experienced broken wires in the column at the shift selector.

I could not find the tow-Haul on my 4.5 when I first tried it. I pushed the button and all it did was disable the OD. Then I played with it one day and found if you just push the button in a little it would go to tow-Haul mode and the light would come on. :eek:

If this is not your problem, it is probably a broken switch wire in the column. Lots of problems with column wires because they are small and get a lot of stress - especially when people keep changing the position of the tilt wheel.

replaced a ton of shifter handles for this concern.

Thanks for the info, sounds like it may be the wires in shift lever. Only had this truck little over a month, It was a GM certified truck so would it be covered under warranty? 2006 Chevy 2500 X-cab 4x4 SB 53800 miles
