Mike L. 03-12-2005, 10:43 PM Limp ( Limp Home Mode ) occurs when the TCM detects a slip, solenoid malfunction, short to ground or positive, high or low trans temps, converter malfunction, low pressure or broken part. The TCM will then either shut off all or some of the voltage to the solenoids, or a combination. When this happens you may be stuck in 3rd, or in certain strategys the next lowest gear from the one that failed. It can and often inhibits all forward movement. When this happens, shut the ignition switch off for a few seconds and restart ( this reboots the computer).
