: What is in store for the new Quad tunes

I was on here earlier last week and I saw where Quad has something new in store for us. What is going to be new and different, can someone inform me. That way we we can put a worse hurting on these TTS trucks this truck pulling season. Thanks.

This

Just got injectors replaced (no more smoke)and reflased with the Quadzilla. But wait now the message center flashes the "low fuel" indicator, "battery" indicator, and "security". The fuel and tem guage do not work for the first 5 minutes of operation.

Tried to restore to stock but cannot establish communication with reloader. Dealer cannot scan either. Says the computer is toast and that will be $800+!! OUCH!

Anyone else run into this or is Mr. Gates building software for GM on the side?

Any input is appreciated.

Scott

I just thought I would start something, I have no problem with the TTS tune. I had a 120 version when they first came out it ran really well. I was just reading the other thread and I thought I might of well said something to get everyone tore up. There is good and bad in all of them. Take care.

All you need is a Waiver, A VIN#, Tire roll-out and a method of payment.......

If you had ordered one you might have made the list..........

You should bow to it........it's the best........I had all the "other" stacks and boxes prior to the Xtreme.......

As others have said even a "NEW" Quad Tuner..........rumoured to be $699 retail with 10 tunes and an Hot OJ/Attitude for $850 ??? or used $750 ????.......will set you back $1400.......$1500.......

So if you don't want the spare ECM you are ahead $100..........

As far as a time machine..........that I don't understand.........unless you are comlaining about the wait..........if you did not order one, why concern yourself........

I'm not bashing the TTS, I tried it. The 120TTS and 90 juice dynoed 383hp. And the next year with a Quad and HJAT 500 plus and 1000 plus torque. That is all the dyno would read. So you do the math, what would you go with. I jus wanted to know how the 10 tunes are going to be. And what is the one about n20. Thanks Justin Burns

P.S. If everyone loves this tune why don't they have it at the pulling track also. Not bashing it jus wondering where these trucks are at when it comes pulling season.

P.S. If everyone loves this tune why don't they have it at the pulling track also. Not bashing it jus wondering where these trucks are at when it comes pulling season.I think you would have to try the Xtreme yourself Justin, the TTS 120/OJ 90 stack is not the Xtreme.........http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif ........I "heard" the TTS 120/HOT OJ puts down a nice number as does the Xtreme solo........

Maybe no-one that is pulling near you has an Xtreme........

Bottom line Justin is my truck dyno'd 490/1023 on a Mustang Load Cell.....Xtreme only.......when I ran the time of 13.35 in the 1/4 it was with a Stock Turbo, Stock Injectors, Stock Fuel System ( Just a Holley Red for a lift pump ), AFE Stage II, and a MBRP 4" exhaust.......

I ran full weight with a single driver and rolling on H2 wheels/33-12.50 tires......is my truck faster than a 13.35 ???? I'll find out in a few weeks when the track opens........Am I a good driver, nope, not hardly, in fact I could use some practice.........http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/eek.gif .............http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/hihi.gif

That being said my truck is what it is, no bigger injectors, no unseen or undisclosed mods or spiked fuel.........no "special" parts that I know some have run........and of coarse my truck may be one of those underacheivers........

Elevation/ Air Density / Track condition / Vehicle Set-up.......http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/blahblah.gif http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/blahblah.gif http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/blahblah.gif ..............I am not making any excuses up like some.........if it goes fatser great, if it goes slower on a given day, OH WELL.........

So the fact remains that the wait is what it is for an Xtreme, IMHO the tune is well worth the wait, so if you are quite happy with what you have then be happy...........there is more than one person running a QUAD/OJ or QUAD/???stack successfully.........

but the big HP/TQ guys and the fastest 1/4 ET guys all use the Xtreme as the base to build from............I am sure you will see some pullin results from CA this season as well..........

I got it .I don't need to defend my choices ,I just do to rub egg in thy faceless peps round here,I know how you's get all rolley-eyes :D

Side bar (thanks McRat) :D

Also Quad, well openly, isn't here because of HIS OWN doing, nuff said, believe it or not, it's your choice big guy.

Nothing personal, I could give a chit.I liked the attention he got and most times it was funny stuff.Remember when he said it's "like wiping before you poop!" One of the funniest one liners I heard Er ..Um seen ):h

You think he only takes some hits here?Go read the Stop.Quads here and posting don't kid yourself ;)

Though I don't know I would presume it's because the Extreme didn't start getting out to people until around Septembern I believe. And even now there aren't a lot of Extreme's out there. I believe we didn't see any pulls with it back East because there just wasn't anyone with it before the season was over. I don't know what this year will be like but I hope we see a couple trucks out there pulling with it. I don't know if any of the big pullers are going to try it or stick with what is working well for them but I'd definitely like to see some results from an Extreme equipped truck at the pulling track. If I were closer to some events I'd give it a shot.

I believe Steve said the latest tune would rev to 4000 RPM.

jburns
03-13-2005, 11:47 AM
The most rpm's I ran down the track last year was 4170 rpm's. That is a little more than 4000, mine will go to 4800.;) Well fact is I would probably try one again, if someone let me try one. But I don't want to wait for a year and a half to get the damn thing. Pulling season's over by then.

King D it was dynoed with a Quad and hot juice with tranny.

Heres what I know.

1. If Quad is here, it would have to be Cartercraft. Nobody else post enough to make it worth his time.

2. The Quad tuner never any had loading problems on my truck. I loaded it,changed levels, removed it 50 times. I loaned it to 3-4 other Diesel Place members and they never had any loading problems either. The loading problems if any had been fixed. Doors open, radio on, no fuses pulled, lights on, lights off. Its bullet proof.

3. The new 10 tune revision 4.01 does have a bug and Quad knows it. He is fixing it. That's why I don't have my tuner back from him yet.

4. Here are the 10 tunes.
1. Timing only
2. 50 HP
3. 70 HP
4. 90 HP
5. 110 HP
6. 135 HP
7. 165 HP
8. 215 HP current tune stand alone
9. 215 HP old tune that stacks with juice well
10. 215 HP old tune that always smoked bad. Constantly smoked. ( N20 tune)

The lower tunes have rev limit of 3500 RPM and the bigger tunes have 4400 if you dare. I think 165 is the cutoff?

As far as Quad being able to post here? I dont know whos right and whos wrong. I remeber a 215 tuner that caused an uproar between BigD, Sdaver and Peantu. Quad was gone after that. I know Quad did not respond well and threatened to use leagal recourse. Who's right? Whos's wrong?

Alls I know is there are vendors here that sell Quad products and when I support those vendors buy buying a Quad tuner, I wish had better support back via this forum!

Do you see someone using 4800 RPMs hooked to a sled?

Also, Bronco mentions a 4400 RPM limit? Typo? Or has Quad raised yours? Increasing the rev limiter should be realitvely easy. If it was needed I'm sure Steve would do it.

I believe the older Quad boxes were set at more then 4400 rpm, even on the 135 hp level. I blow the turbo with the old 135 hp box at a little more then 4500 rpm, and well over 40 lb of boost.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/eek.gif I no longer manual shift my allison.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/frown.gif And I still see 3600 rpm once in a while.

Bronco

Yeah I know, I could get 3900 on my 70 tune. I am just posting what Quad tells me.

When you pass the factory rev limit into the new area, was there a substantial hesitaiton? On my truck there was, but on IBDMAXIN( allison) and Deadeye( Zf6) there was none?
