Hi there, I've found a 2002 chevy silverado 2500 hd 6.6 duramax for sale with 105,000 miles and I'm thinking of buying it. It currently sits in a shops parking lot and the tech says it needs injectors due to running biodiesel 100%. The owner doesn't want to fork out the cash and I don't know if it's worth it. 5,000 dollars and its mine. I'm curious as to what other problems may occur due to running biodiesel and If I replaced the injectors and run just diesel, if more problems are on the way. From what I've read, it sounds like injectors are a normal problem with this truck. Dealer won't warranty the injectors while they claim fuel contamination and they want 3500 to replace them. Thanks for your input.

Injectors are bad due to poor design not Bio.

Take it to another Stealer and get a second opinion if you can.

Good bio will not cause injector problems. The LB7's had injector problems and the dealer is using bio as the reason not to cover it. IMO.

Wow, thats a good price if its in good shape. You can buy injectors for a couple of hundred dollars apiece and put them in yourself. And have a good truck or sell it for profit at that price. Steve

Just Like Everybody Else Said The Dealer Is Giving You The Run Around. I Would Buy The Truck And Fix It.as For Any Other Problems With Running Bio, Would Just Be That Your Fuel Filter Might Get Dirty Faster In The Begining. When I Started Running Bio I Had To Change My Fuel Filter Every Month For 2 Months. I Was Running Home Made Bio. Bio Is A Great Cleaning Agent And It Will Clean Your Fuel System Out. It Sucked Having To Change My Fuel Filter At 50 Dollars A Pop, But My Truck Ran Great For The Time I Was Running It. Hope This Helps.
