: Alternatives to the A-pillar gauge mount?

Looking to install 2 or 3 Isspro or other gauges in my suburban. I really have not seen an alternative to the pillar mount. I have located some cool looking column mounts and some dash bezels for those other brands, but really nothing for our GM. The overhead panel has the controls for the rear A/C, so that really isn't an option.

Has anyone mounted 2 1/16 gauges in the blank column above the autotrac transfer case controls?

How about relocating the CD player that is mounted below the stereo and front A/C controls?

I think that there is room to mount a gauge on the top steering column next to the hazard button, but no one makes one for the C/K trucks.

Autometer makes a column mount for the Chevy/GM, FS Truck/Duramax 00-03 that is shown below. I wonder if that could be modified to fit an old style column that is found on the 99 and earlier C/K.

my pyro is mounted next to the hazard button on the steering column. i used an autometer guage pod and a zip tie. this hopefully isnt a permanent location. it works good though.

i am still trying to decide what gauges i want to get. i know boost for sure, maybe tranny, maybe iat, maybe fuel pressure. i dont think anybody makes a 5 gauge a pillar mount.

I am just annoyed because there is plenty of room to mount gauges either on the dash bezel next to the instrument cluster or below the autotrac controls in a 3 or 4 gauge configuration. I guess GM didn't sell enough 94-98 (and 99) C/K trucks for the major instrumentation makers to build a decent, factory looking solution to address our needs. :rolleyes:

Some have made their own using a door vanity pocket trimmed to fit on the dash and making their own face plate for the gages to sit in.

I've been looking for a good place to mount guages other than the pillar. Less is more when it comes to things blocking my visability for four wheeling.

For another alternative place to mount guages, take a look at the space below the lights and switches on the overhead consoles in 95-up. In our pickups, the space is too oval for guages to fit. The same console out of a Tahoe or Sub has a much larger space that would fit two 2 1/16" guages just fine. Of course in a Sub, that space might be used up for rear A/C controls.

I have a 2 1/16" felectric fuel pressure gauge and I plan on installing it to the left of the steering column and angling it up some to monitor my fuel filters.

Sorry guys I have been at sea on a turbine powered ship in Australia all week just checking in before travelling home, will be back in the USA 22nd or I would have replied earlier;

Here is one from a friend on the Page that sold his 6.5, but did the dash pocket thing from a Savanna van IIRC rear seat dash pocket GMCTD also has done something similar.
