: Pictures of my gauges and banks air intake
nineD5wonton 03-12-2005, 03:24 PM Wrapped up my gauge install, as well as my trans cooler lines. How fun! These gauges look sweet, I love them! For the most part, they were an easy install. The pics are in the link in my signature line. Let me know what ya think.
gmctd 03-12-2005, 04:04 PM If that is the Banks intake duct - it would be worth your while to re-install it.
It would direct the cooler air from the front directly into the air box, which is a good thing, and is much larger than the original 'snorkle', which was a bad thing.
Should also give some additional protection from the dusty environment inside the fender panel.
Think I''ll check out Banks' site, see if that duct is still available.
93_Burrito 03-12-2005, 07:26 PM Hey neighbor... I live in Dover, too.
Unit453 03-12-2005, 10:25 PM How much for all the guages and the a pillar? I want the same set up, just have to justify it to the wife.
nineD5wonton 03-12-2005, 10:58 PM I got a "special" deal on the package. I paid $300. I priced it out around $650 for everything retail. I did leave the Banks piece in, looked to flow well, and direct the air into my box. Hey burrito! Nice to talk to ya. I work at the Advance in Dover part time. If you see my truck there swing in.
MrTailLight 03-13-2005, 10:39 AM those gauges look alot better than the Banks....i like the look of the blue lights ;)
bowtie 03-13-2005, 02:37 PM Did you use a blue cover for the lamp to get that color when lit.
nineD5wonton 03-13-2005, 09:52 PM No, that's the color that the "Cobalt" gauges are. It's a sealed unit. They're almost too bright. Is there any way I could put a resistor in-line to dim them? If so, what kind of ohms would I go for?
Turbine Doc 03-13-2005, 10:28 PM I have my gage lites tied to fuse of instrument cluster that way they dim with dash instruments, do a search for it; I posted some pics I think when NVMTLION was aking same question a while back, I went looking it is in FAQs.
nvmtnlion 03-13-2005, 11:09 PM Yup, TD gave good gouge and after finding add-a-taps at Napa I was set to go. I really like the ISSPRO marine gauges with their white background and blue lettering. They are blue lit but not as bright those on this thread.
Diesel Grinch 03-14-2005, 08:59 AM Where did you get the paint to match? Looks good.
93_Burrito 03-14-2005, 10:34 AM nineD5,
When do you normally work? I've seen a blue dually there that's all tricked out, don't know if that belongs to another customer or what. I usually see a 2-tone brownish K2500 burb with a 350 and dual exhaust every time I drive by.
nineD5wonton 03-14-2005, 12:37 PM I did tap into the dimmer, but when I dim the lights enough for the gauge lights to be nice, the dash lights are too dim. I mixed the paint at work. Funny thing is, the paint code is wrong for the dash color, so I had to use a different code, which is a little bit lighter than the factory color.
I work in the evenings and on weekends. That blue dually hasn't worked there for months. I've only been there for about 2 months.
