Guys I need your suggestions.

I have a set of the new style towing mirrors. My drivers side has something loose behind it rattling. The mirror glass itself does not rattle, it is something behind it. I can hear it when the window is down and going fairly slow, like on side streets.

if i fold the window in, the rattling stops. as soon as i extend it, it is back.

i have taken the mirror apart, tightened everything I could, lubed every moving part I could think of. Removed the lower glass and tightened the screw and holder behind it. I have done everything I can think of:mad:

does anybody have any other suggestions? it is driving me crazy.

It just doesn't make sense it rattles when in normal position, but when folded in it stops.

please help:o:

Maybe its something in your door, with the window down and you shut the door can you hear anything?

No, no noise when the door is closed and the window is up

Even though nothing is loose, the wind could easily snake by and rattle some things. This would stop when you pulled it in and upon removal nothing would be loose. This is probably the culprit. Guys have complained about windshield weatherseal noises due to a hood guard... you wouldn't happen to have a double wammy and have one of those too would ya?
