What do I do to the tcm after loading a hotter tune in a stock trans truck? Do I change the taps, put it into fast learn, change shift points or leave it alone? What is the proper procedure for trans relearn and how long should it take? The trans is shifting inconsistently and is lagging between shifts in t/h. It is acting as though it is in t/h once in 5th in normal mode it will grade brake once I let off. At time when I hit the brake in 5 I can feel the tc clutch unlock. I am new to tuning and don't want to hurt the trans. Just want to make sure of proper procedure. I have to tow with it Monday and definately don't want to hurt it. Thanks for the help.

I have asked this question before and none of the replies I recieved seemed to help. I reset TAPS and never seemed to get the shift I wanted. I did not like the way the stock ally shifted with the stock tune either.
So I started with a moderate tune and disabled the TCM torque controls.
This was better but I still thought the shift was too slow and lazy. I then reduced all my shift times by 100 ms. Now the truck has definitive shifts and feels like a normal gaser tranny. I use my engine tune to decrease torque between shifts. It seemed to me that the trans would want to defuel and then the engine. Never seemed to happen at the same time even with the torque tables the same.
Personally I would rather have a truck that has solid shifts than a truck that has more power and over torque managed to protect the stock trans.

I've left mine along. While not dogging the truck with the new tune. A couple days to learn, shifts perfect.
