: Turbo Master & TM-Max Boost Controller

I have a 96 C3500 HD "F" motor. I've discovered that my turbo is not making enough boost when I pull a heavy load. I looked at the Turbo Master and the TM-Max Boost controller at Kennedy's. Can I use both these at the same time? Is this something that can help me out. The only mods on my engine is the SSdiesel air intake and there 4" exhaust. I haven't put the exhaust on yet but the air intake seem to make a differences. I still have to make my enclosure for the filter to make a true cold air intake system. I just want to stop the black smoke from coming out under load.

Thanks

Dave

How much boost are you making? And how much black smoke are we talking about?

Yes, you can use both, but get a pyro and boost gauge.

Dave,

Be prepared to fab up real hangars for that exhaust. The kit you have I just installed and works great except for the cheezy flat bar stock mounts. Carefully cut your old mounts off so you can reuse them or have the allthread ready.

With stock '96 programming, you can't use the TurboMaster alone if you plan to make boost 10-12psi+. It will set a code.

TD-Max can be used alone.

Not sure about the boost. I just order gauges today so I will know soon. The black smoke is like a stream about a foot think after it leaves the tailpipe. It doesn't stop till I let off. When I have no load it just puffs out a bit then no smoke after that.

Good to know. I'm going to put it on next weekend. Thanks for the tip.
