Well I'm back again. After installing the exhaust, went for a test run, kept smelling anti-freeze, well when I got home, I found where the smell was coming from, anti-freeze on the pass side under the hearter box. You guessed it must be the heater core. I have a small chiltons book, it says must take off the steering wheel to tilt the dash? Don't sound right, but than again It's a GM truck. It's still cold here in Mich but got to get it out sooner or later. I have spent the last hour or so checking threads including a search, no info. Well I'm opened to all suggestions and fixes. Thanks again Gordon.

Have to pull the dash away from the firewall to get the heater box out to change the core. Usually drop the column down to rest on the seat, undo all the dash stuff and pull it away far enough to get behind it to pull the box.

thats a 93 truck, cake walk.

Flush and reflush the coolant system to get rid of electrolosys that will take out a heater core quick

After looking at this thing from under the hood and dash, this aint going to be no easy job. The flat rate book calls for 5-6 hours. I'm wondering, maybe trying the flush. The only thing, it's already leaking, how is it going to stop the leak? Besides there already is a new radiator in place, the only flush would be the core itself. Gordon.

The flush is only AFTER the core is replaced, its already leaking now, just wanna prevent it from happening again.

We are working on a 93 truck right?

Yup 93 6.5. Those 2 clamps on the hoses at the core at the firewall sure gonna be fun. Without air would have been easy, but I have air. Gordon. By the way I'm in Saginaw.
