: New Exhaust/Limping Tranny...Coincedence?

I just installed a MBRP 4" exhaust. Since the install, I have limped the tranny on the highway traveling to work twice. Is this just a coincedence?

My guess is with the stock exhaust, my EGT's would rise and my Juice would back my power down. Now, with the new exhaust, EGT's are not an issue and the power was allowed to come on, thus limping the tranny?????

Any body have any similiar experiences?

What level are you running the Juice at? Anything above level 3 will have a much better chance of limping the tranny. 5th gear is the most suseptible.

The first time it happened I was in level 3, the second time I was in level 5. I had only limped the tranny one time before my exhaust install, and that was the first day I had the Juice. I thought it was very strange I did twice two days after installing my exhaust.

I know how hard this is to do, but KEEP YOUR FOOT OUT OF IT!! lol Until the tranny is upgraded, and using anything above level 3 with the Juice, you'll be just asking for more trouble. The Juice doesn't monitor the transmission, whether it's slipping or not, but the Banks does. So, until something is done to your transmission, I would suggest not to use levels above 3, sorry!

I do believe my Juice monitors the Allison for slippage and defuels when it sees it. Later! Frank

Nate, as you know I am sure, its harder than it seems...
The Juice does howerver monitor slip, and backs down power accordingly.

My whole point though to this thread was, I never limped the tranny before I put the exhaust on, now I have 2 days in a row.
My driving habits havent changed either.

I have the banks six gun, i used to run the sh*t out of my truck in level six. Ive only put my truck into limp mode once before i chilled out. My advice edge is to keep your truck in the low power levels. Your warranty wont be worth anything on the tranny WHEN you fry it with that edge, and ts going to cost you a few thousand bucks to repare

wow, i really wish that when we go to buy new products that we would be informed about these things!!! that's why we didn't go with the Edge, because we were told that it doesn't monitor transmission slippage... I think i need to switch dealers...
