Can someone please tell me what a ballpark price would be for a new C4500 cab/chasis with 4x4 and automatic trans.?
While I'm primarily looking for a realistic retail price, a dealer invoice price would be welcome too :D

about 38-40k... no bed, few options.

42-43k (dealer invoice) for crew cab with lots of options from the quotes I had pulled together.

From GM's website it looks like the crewcab adds about $3735.00 to the truck's price. http://www.gmc.com/specs/specs_content_files/mediumduty/specs_features.jsp?brand=cseries&vehicle=C4500&commercial=mediumduty

I can't imagine that it would vary regardless of the truck being 2wd or 4wd.
