I have a knock or klunk in the steering on my truck. It only seems to happen when im pulling into a driveway when its off camber. Is there anything that can be done?

Had the same noise from my 04. Took it in and they replaced the shaft to the new updated version. The steering shaft union was the cause. Tech said they had seen this in the 1500 but real rare in the 2500HD.

They've been having troubles with the Intermediate Steering Shafts in the 1500 and 1500HDs, and some in the 2500HD's. Dad just had his REPLACED, not lubed. We had a friend that had his do the same thing- knock when turning. They only lubed it... month or so later *knock knock knock*... I'd consider just throwing a new one in, if they have one

There is a new fix for this on my o3 after the new greaseabout 8 months has past and it is back again. The dealer said new tsb on it for replacement of stering shaft.

I had the same thing, but turned out to simply be a worn ball joint.

Was the sound from the worn ball joint a thumping with no felt sensation in the steering wheel ? Thanks
