Have a 07 LBZ 2500. A local guy has 2 Aluminum (1- 75 gal and 1- 100gal) tanks from a big rig. The name plate says side mount. I looked inside- no baffles.
My thought was to mount the 75 gal tank in my bed for long trips. Question is, do you think I would notice, say a half tank sloushing back and forth, without baffles?
Tank is 23"dia. cylinders 5' long. Price seemed good $100?

How do ya plan on mounting it? Are you just going to use it as a transfer tank with a filler hose?

I would worry about that much weight sloshing around, could break bolts or rip sheetmetal depending on how and where you drive and mount it.No baffles?I thought most fuel tanks had baffles in them by design.

you will hardly notice the fuel sloshing around, the only time you will is when you come to a stop, and even then you will not notice it that much

The only negative is the height, it will stick up over the bed rail. As for sloshing the only time you'll feel it is at crawl speeds in stop and go, and it will be minimal. As for mounting most I have seen most use band steel (line it with rubber) and wood blocks cut to the the same radius (as craddles), then simply bolt down. At a $100 and maybe another $75-100 in install materials you will love it, it won't take long to make that up in fuel savings if you hit the right stations. Post up some pics when your done.

I've got an older Mack rectangle shaped tank, about 350L of fuel. All fuel tanks are baffled, but from a truck application they are ment to run in the same direction as the truck. When they are rotated the baffles no longer work.
On our 550, it has a 825L tank that is baffled and you can feel the fuel sloshing around. It is worst when it is about 2/3rds full.
Generally I only notice the fuel if I hammer on the brakes or drive like a maniac. With concervitive driving you almost don't even notice the fuel behind you.

I'd just jump right in and go for it. If you end up unsatisfied or no longer need it you can always throw it up for sale here on the forum and someone will come along and it will fit thier needs perfectly.
