Will an Allison out of an 01 LB7 fit into an 04 LLY? If not what are the differences?

No, will not directly interchange

Valve body is different, but the 01 VB and harness can be swapped in. The other major difference is the cooler line fittings. Smaller on the 01

Alright thanks I was asking because I had a chance to get a used ats tranny out of an 01 for a pretty good deal

So whats to stop you from buying that ATS tranny and swapping the valve bodies and cooler line fittings with the ones out of your stock trans? ...or am I "F.O.S."?

The fitting have different thread size, will not interchange, needs to swap conv housing
