:grd: Hey fellas I am a newbie to the website and to the d-max. I was wondering if you can jack up the front end by tightening up on the torsion bars or suggest a method or product that will raise the front end an inch or more. I am inquiring strickly for estetic reasons. I have a 02 crew cab 4x4. Thanks

Yeah crank up the T-Bars....or Add some Timbrens, Or both....I think 4 turns equals an inch. I cranked the T-bars on my 01' gasser 7 turns, then added timbrens ended up taking a few turns back on the T-bars.
Their is actually a measurment to make sure you dont crank you t-bars too much (causes bad cv joint angles) But try 4 turns, I guarantee you'll be fine.
I like the Timbrens alot tightened up the front end very nicely

Use the search function up along the top bar of the forum....search "torsion lift" or "green keys", bring a sack lunch and a case of beer, pull up your chair and start reading.

Doesn't ANYONE search for topic answers anymore?

I just had my truck re-keyed. Didn't affect the ride a bit and really made the truck look better. Offroadunlimited.com or Hill4wheel.com have re-indexed keys for the HD's.

After doing this you need to have your truck aligned this changes a few things when you crank it up. You may not notice, but tire wear would probably show it(camber changes). Anyway, if you crank it up all the way it will look sweet, but the ride gets way too stiff.

Only because you are getting the A arms closer to the drop down stops, and it is bouncing off of them. Check toe in as well when doing this. It suffers more than the camber and castor does. WORDS of WARNING though. When you do this mod, your tie rods become at a much worse disadvantage and will bend or break much easier. It is HIGHLY recomended to get some tie rod sleeves for problem free driving and wheeling. I have the fix. Do a search if unshure of this.

When you crank up your T-bars, its a good idea to get longer shocks. So you dont over extend shocks, go with bilsteins for a much better ride.

The adjustability of Rancho 9000 shocks are also a welcome addition when changing from towing a heavy load to a empty ride. These can do wonders for a comfortable trip.

When I picked up my '05 2500HD D/A ext SB a couple of weeks ago, I went to the tire shop the next day and put 285 BFG A/Ts on the stock alloy wheels. Had to go up 5 rounds on the T bars. Once we reset the caster to factory spec. the toe & camber fell right back where they belong and had clearance between the tire & air dam. Not alot, 1/2", but haven't rubbed anywhere in 1300 mi since. Sits pretty close to level too. With tires and T bars it raised the truck front end a total of 2 1/2" over stock.
