Does it come with the pass lock 2? You will need that. If I had it to do over I would go with the astro start. The install is much quicker than all the rest.

I've installed a couple of Astrostarts myself and love it. More than anything the service after the sale is the key to owning a product should issues arise. Every vendor here I've dealt with has been top notch, and are worth contacting.

That is the GM security system that you need to bypass so the remote starter can start the truck.

 WOW 30 seconds seems like a long time, I dont think mine has ever gone more than 8-9 seconds.

With the support and availability from Max Power and Astro Start, I think one would be foolish to not take advantage of the two.

Max Power knows our trucks and what it takes to make them work. The Astro Start is a quality unit and Max Power is a quality guy!

I've installed Compustars for years, with no problems till recently. IMO Their quality control went down the crapper in the last six months or so. Bad enough that I no longer install their products...

Are any of these remote starts using the factory remotes?

All the good ones don't use the factory remote. The factory remote doesn't have enough range or enough channels to make it practical.

I really dont need the range. Was just mostly looking at keeping the factory driver 1/2 option and such.

Most of the new data bus modules will still activate the #1 drive memory, #2 just has to push the button on the door...no biggie for most people considering all the advantages....

Ah ok, thats cool. What are these systems running cost wise? Do they do more than just remote start?
