bone stock !!!! 04 lb7 85k miles. my dmax makes a loud pecking noise when accelerating right at about 1800-2000 rpm under light to medium pedal. injectors replaced third time under warranty in december 2007.
noise is knarley at times. if driving with drivers window open you can hear it off the center divider big time. any ideas ????????

maybe it is the pushrods....I would let someone check it out.

my truck did the same thing, sounded like a crack piston very loud, Put new injectors in noise gone, also adjusted the valves engine is very quiet.

it does turn on and off at times like pilot injection. My question is, should it be this loud?? I ahve had the truck since new and cant remember it being this loud. Engine sounds like a piece of shiot.
