: 1 ton dually MPG? What do you get?
bartman 03-11-2005, 09:08 PM Looking for objective MPG on LLY 1 ton dually's only. Let me know all scenarios...city, hiway, towing etc.
I'm getting 14 mpg running around town which is about 75% freeway to and from work. I have not towed yet, but will be for the 1st time at the end of the month. My trailer will weigh about 13.5k for this trip as I wont be carrying water or gasoline in it. Hoping to get 9-10mpg.
Thanks
michael nelson 03-11-2005, 09:19 PM 17.4mpg,city,and hwy,75%freeway,but traffic is bad,srw...3500,no towing....yet!
Tuckaleechee DMax 03-11-2005, 10:00 PM No towing - 20mpg @ 55mph, 18 @ 70, 14 @ 85. Hand calculated general averages 18,000 miles.
carhauler 03-11-2005, 10:32 PM I have a 2004 lly CC drw Banks exhaust /filter edge on #2 Empty wieght with my 48 ft gooseneck 2 car trailer 17,350 with a 34 packard and a 57 nomad ( would guess wieght was 23,000 )Got 12.2 on a 2300 mile round trip only empty mile were LA to Las Vegas this was freeway mountain and some city , truck has got 18.9 on the road by it self ,worse ever with the trailer was 10. I am really happy except it does have the oheat problem on hard pulls , hot or cold outside.
Leatherman 03-12-2005, 06:11 AM I'm pulling a 10k trailer loaded with leather only getting 9.9@ 70 mph. I have never seen anything over 13 pulling my trailer and I don't have a heat problem pulling a load. I do have a heat problem in cab when it's cold But, over all I'm very Happy with this ride. Better then my old gaser that was getting 5 mpg with the trailer on it.
Jeff@SGLC 03-12-2005, 10:31 AM Somebody can do the math for me but with my 05 at 1100km on the odometer, I get about 475km on a tank (102L area). That's mostly city driving with lots of stop lights.
Hoghunter 03-12-2005, 10:47 AM Just bought mine and have 4,000k on it. Consistently get around 14.5 to 14.8 driving around with a split between freeway and side streets. Recent trip to Oregon which was about 230k one way I averaged about 15.75. I don't drive slow. I'm consistenly at 70 and above on the freeway.
Jackpine 03-12-2005, 10:55 AM I've got about 6500 miles on mine, and currently get ~14.5 mpg with a 75%/25% mix of highway driving and city driving. Started in fall at about 16 mpg, droped this winter, likely because of the winter blended fuel. Still hoping to set into the 16 mpg after 10K.
RickDLance 03-12-2005, 11:18 PM I just got my worst tank ever. 4.9 MPG. Had a cargo trailer on top of the wedge. 75 mph and a head wind. Had trouble holding speed on level ground. I have gotten as good as 15 mpg towing. A ton of varibles come into play. Speed, wind, fuel quality, just to name a few. My trucks seem to get the best mpg at around 45 mph, but who can drive that slow??
GDZLAM 03-13-2005, 12:09 AM 12 to 12.5 city. Freeway 14.5to 15 Trailer at 75 About 10 to 12MPG.
blizzardplowman 03-13-2005, 09:56 AM 2400 miles on mine- best empty of 12.5 worst towing of 6 @ 72mph pulling 26' enclosed aluminum trailer big head wind. Normal towing has been 8, alot lower than my 01 lb7. Taking it back to the dealer Monday , getting way to many codes with and without the juice, the worst one is the p1093 limp mode, did again a 70 on the freeway, this is the 3 time in a week.Censored
Biterman 03-13-2005, 10:27 AM PPE Xcellerator on level 2, 2005 Dually. I average around 16-18mpg highway and around 14-15mpg around town but I drive it like a truck (READ: no hole shots, easy acceleration) 2000 miles on it.
I love this truck. This will be the first vehicle in years I will keep over a year.
