I finally decided to get the Edge w/Attitude, and installed it tonight. Everything worked perfect at first including the EGT. But when I came home, I noticed my EGT was reading only 179! I double checked the probe connections etc. and can't find anything wrong. Does anyone know if it is common for the probes to go bad?
I did a search and found only one other similar thread, but there was no repost with the resolution. Thanks for any help you can provide.

sorry for the troubles you are having..I was interested in this problem so I did some searching as well. The only thing I found even closely related all said the probe was too far in or too far out getting false readings... While others just had bad probes all together and were getting super low readings or VERY high readings.
You might check the depth of the probe itself in the manifold and make sure its centered to get the most air flow and best reading.. if that doesn't help I would just call Edge and have them ship you another one. Their tech support ROCKS!!
good luck
...those temp numbers sound like an open ckt... got to be a bad (broken internally) cable..
p.s. briano is right, edge will send you another if they think thats the problem!

Thanks for the input guys! I just got back from about 130 mile trip, and the EGT probe was registering from the time she started this morning. I am not sure what to make of it. I might still call Edge to see what they suggest.
Do you guys have any suggestions on what levels you have playing around with? 1 says Mileage, 2 Tow, 3 Drive, 4 Race, and 5 Extreme. From what I've read so far, most aren't really driving around in 3 - if I remember correctly. So far I haven't really been getting on her but I do notice a bit stronger pull on moderate accel.;)

I caught the "so far". Sounds like you may have an opportunity to meet Mike L in the near future ........
Run around in Level 3 and you should have no problems. I tow my 15,000 LB 38 foot 5ver in T/H level 2 and switch to level 3 on occassion when pulling on level ground such as interstates. I also have a stock tranny and do not want to replace it just yet. I do on occassion use level 4 but rarely do I just stomp on the throttle..Jim:ro)
