subscribing to this thread since I was JUST looking into purchasing some... please keep us up to date on how/what you mean, model of shocks, etc..

I found a place online that is super cheap so I will be checking this thread periodically.

"Don't seem to fit" in that the front shocks seem to be too short, correct?

"Don't seem to fit" in that the front shocks seem to be too short, correct?Until we set our beers down and realized the spacer was built into the blue plastic splash guard.....DOH!

After installed, they fit fine, and work just fine. The ride and handling feels much more controlled, and the "after bounce" is greatly diminished.

After working one of the factory shocks back and forth, and doing the same with a Bilstein, it's very easy to understand why they allow the vehicle to perform better. Money well spent, my wife even commented on how much better the truck felt!

so you can tell a big difference with the Bilsteins? is the ride stiffer? or just not as bouncy?

briano: I have had my Bilsteins on for about 4k miles. Right off the bat, the truck rode better. I live on a gravel road, and the ride is noticeably smoother, even in an unloaded truck. The handling and cornering seem more controlled as well.

Don't come a knockin' if the truck is a rockin'

I second the ride quality with the Bilsteins. I had the Rancho 9000's prior. One item that could taint the comparison, I added the Cognito Motorsports HD leveling kit and switched to the Bilsteins.

Thanks, I think (ya coulda PM'd me on that one)!

And yes, the ride is great, not stiff, just much more controlled. No more bouncey bounce after crossing speed bumps. My buddy with a 2000 Ford Powerstroke assisted in drinking my beer (and installing the Billys), and he is ordering his set from Kennedys tomorrow. Like I said, money well spent.

I can't wait to tow with this truck. We are going up to one of our "early" camp spots Saturday to check out the conditions. With our lack of snow pack this year, our mountains will be accessable much early than normal.

Next stop, rear anti-sway bar.........

Sledman,
LOL, if TXguppy had PM'd you, then the rest of us would not have had near as good a laugh.

very cool.. I may invest in some Bilsteins with the upcoming bonus then. I figured the HD's ride a bit rougher just because they have stiffer suspension, but my old Z71 had bilsteins from the factory and I liked the ride in it.

thanks y'all

Ok..took the plunge. I found a killer deal on the bilsteins and have them on order.

any install issues with these? I haven't even looked at the front suspension, are their coil overs or regular struts? from what everyone is saying it sounds like coil overs. I know the rears will be easy, its the fronts I need to check on.

anyways,, TIA
