i want to straight pipe my 2001 but i noticed that the muffler is welded on and there isnt alot of room t put clamson for a flex pipe

so my question is is that if i cut off the muffler and get a flex pipe and get it installed some how by finding some sort of clamps, if i didnt like it and i got a muffler shop to put themuffler back on, how reliable will the muffler be if its welded on meaning will it fall off after 100 000 miles? and how should i attach a flex pipe if i do do this

I cut the pipe off as close as I could to the muffler and attached the flex pipe with two stainless band clamps. If you don't like the sound I would get a free flowing muffler instead of the stock muffler. Personally I like the straight pipe sound, just watch the noise laws. :muahaha:

A muff shop shouldnt charge you much to do an install without flex pipe.

Where did you find the flex pipe?

Just Did Mine For 70 Bucks..... But I Heard Of A Couple Of Guys On This Site That Only Paid 35 To 40. My Luck Not Yours!!

Where did you find the flex pipe?I bought it at the local NAPA. It took a day to get it in.

I have tried every local exhaust shop here and no one has the ability to bend anything over 3". I have tried some of the big truck places and they dont do custom stuff. So I am going to be stuck with the flex or buy the delete pipe on Ebay till I do full system.
