My 2000 appears to have the vac pump heading south in a hurry! I managed to make it home a couple hundred miles but i don't think its going to get any further.

What i need to know is the right part # for the shorter belt on my unit if i just take off the pump?

What holes need to be plugged once its removed if any?

I'm thinking i might just put on another pump if i can't find the shorter belt in a hurry but don't want the expense of a new pump, plus i would like to gain the extra HP from not having to turn that thing even if its only 1 pony its still an increase.

I'll probably just have to tie the WG shut until i get a TM or make my own solution for that, i'm not too concerned about the WG as i have a boost gauge and push it pretty hard with the vac system anyways. (20 psi).

Anyone have the proper part # for the 2000 belt without vac pump?

I'll continue to search the forum while i wait as it should be here somewhere.

No holes to plug. Pull the vacuum tubes too, but leave solenoid plugged in. I don't know the shorter belt part number, but it's posted here somewhere.

Sounds like you got the rest figured out.

You don't have to keep the solenoid when you have a chip.

I believe the belt is 100 Inches : BUT, Cheap belts will strech out allowing Tensioner to
go to max. Not Good, I used a 99 5/8 from NAPA, But had to remove pully to clear lip.
Still a little short. as tensioner was compressed to much. I gave up and reinstalled
the vacuum pump, with a Kennedy boost fooler. AND Use GM belts, they are the only one's that Have Lasted any length of time...Good Luck....
Note: I Carry the " turbo master " and short belt for emergency...

About the solenoids, I tried to remove them after installing my Heath 2.0 and instantly had SES light come on until I plugged them back in, same for the firewall mounted MAP sensor. Dont throw them away until your sure you don't need them!

The help was great, thanks guy's! I searched the forum and found the part # i was looking for.

I will have to update the sig again now.... no damn vac pump!

Althought the part number for the belt worked i think i'm going to have to change it real soon, its already halfway between the marks and if i pull on it i can move it to its max as if there was no belt on it, looks like it needs to be maybe 1/2" shorter for the 2000 to get any amount of wear out of it.

Anyways, vac pump is trashed, anyone want a extra pulley? Freeby? ....No.... I didn't think so...lol

I've created my own spring actuated waste gate controller, works pretty darn fine too! I'm running 8 psi cruising and 10 psi when on it hard, thats about 50% less than what i was running but i will rectify that as time permits, at least i can cruise without a trail of black smoke!

Heres a couple of pics to show you what i've created as a short term fix using existing mounting hardware from the vacuum system and still gives better than factory boost without foolers or codes popping up.

After all it just wouldn't be me without posting a pic or two!

Fist pic is cut apart of vacuum canister just for show
Second pic is my Canadian Waste Gate Controler
Third pic....well thats how Blondes have more fun. Wifey didn't look in the review mirror good enough, backed into this little acclaim with the 95 thats got about 10" of lift total and those are the results.

If your concerned about damage to the 95, it only had a small scratch on the back bumper. Needless to say i'm now the proud owner of a 91 Acclaim http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/Throwup.gif

CR, if you have belt #4061000 and you want a belt 1/2 in shorter you'll need a #4060995

Perfect, thanks for the info. Just so you know it appears NAPA is using the same part #'s.

HEY CR Be sure you add your "new" car to your signature:lol: :cool2: :exactly: :grd:

I would but it seems i am getting to close to the limit for characters in the signature and don't want to waste them on a piece of **** that the wife decided to use as a crash test. ):h

I am actually surprised i haven' had any questions about my homemade waste gate controler. I'll bet a couple of you are wondering how the hell it works...lol

Especially seeings there's no haywire involved... lol

(Above pic has a New CDR in the background also, the air filter is just holding it in place so the turbo won't suck it out... lol)

All looks good and clean to me. The way I see it, if you can fabricate something yourself, then why the hell not (in reference to your wastegate actuator.

BTW, what is your 0-60 time? 0-100 in 10 sec is extremely impressive. I'm jealous:o:

0- 60 is the same in 10 seconds, i forgot to put in km/h instead of mph. Sorry to dissapoint you but 0 - 60 in 8 secs or less is what i'm going for.

I will be adding a little (maybe alot) of propane to the mix soon.

Also once time permits (this is one for you QM) I will be welding shut the WG and if 26 psi isn't obtainable then it will be time for a new turbo. Damn, i gotta get me a IC of some sort before i'm showing you guys pics of what a crank and pistons looks like laying on the side of the hiway.

Oh ya, BTW, me and a Power Joke had a pull the other day, his only mod was full exhaust, his advertise HP on the valve cover was 325 HP and he had 6" of lift with off road rubber..... I had a hard time trying not to laugh after i pulled him 100' in the mud... that may have contributed to my vac pump getting retired early...

Someone here needs to check the turbocharger back pressure verses boost pressure. I am talking about the exhaust pressure before the turbo. 26 psi don't mean squat if the back pressure is 75 psi. Just put a gauge before the turbo, like a pyrometer. I'd be more impressed if you had 15 PSI boost and 25 PSI back pressure.

I know EBP is high.

I like your wg controller, CR. I was going to do similiar on my dad's '96 with allthread a spring and a tensioning bolt, via wade's homemade route.

EBP is one thing i will be checking and i fully agree with DP. I just need time to get it done amongst my many other tasks that need doing.
