Sorry for the dumb questions but I've always been a Dodge boy. Looking at an 03 Duramax though because it's a beautiful truck with the options I want and the price is right. Do all the Duramax diesels come with the Allison bolted up or is than an option?

If it is a truck, and it is an automatic, then yes they have come with Allison transmissions since their inception in 2001. If it is a van then they come with 4L80E's.

You can always call your local chevy dealer and have them to a full vin check on the truck.. thats what i did at least took about 5min and they faxed me everything i needed
