I'm installing a DVD/Nav system in my 2003 Sierra DD. The one connection I'm uncomfortable with is what they call the "Car Speed Signal Intermediate Wire." Pretty vague on directions other than it should be connected to the "Car Speed Signal Harness." Okay...
Is there a convenient place under the dash that anyone is aware of to make this connection?
The wire from the Nav has an inline diode to prevent any feedback into the vehicle speed circuit I would guess.
Any help would be appreciated.
btw..Great Site!

Pull the cluster and tap the Dark Green/ white wire at pin A4 and SOLDER IT! You don't want it to get loose....

Thanks a bunch BlueOx!
Sounds pretty straightforward then.

Let me pick your brain a little more:
The Nav Unit needs to connect to the "Reverse Lamp Harness" with the "reverse detection wire."
Pretty easy to find this outside the cab, but is there a convenient connection under the dash?
I ordered the wiring diagram from GMUpfiters.com, but don't have it yet--so pardon me for the obvious questions.
Thx

The BCM is mounted under the steering column.
Check the 6 pin black connector. Terminal F should be light green. This should test +12v when you put the truck in reverse.
Check with a digital multi meter not a test light.

You can get it in a kit form--factory navigation--from jpcustoms.com.

Davhut1, just another thought, the "car speed signal intermadiate wire" you ask about may also control the speedometer/odometer, so you may want to be sure, and very careful...maybe BlueOx03 or Max Power knows for sure....just a helpful thought...Maybe check twice...and not have to correct a mistake.

Thanks everyone for the pointers.
This site is awesome... and costing me lots of money:)
Got it all hooked up and working fine. Just need to figure out how everything works now.
Sir-Col--
I got a P-NAV715 (Kenwood KVT-715DVD + KNA-DV4100). You can do better, and worse, for a DVD/NAV system--depends on your budget and what you need. I paid $1698 + $27 shipping on-line. Oh yeah, you will need the OnStar interface, Chime Module, & Steering Wheel Control depending on year and options--lots of info on that in this forum. Real easy install other than the two connections I was looking for.
<tt>Thanks Again..
