Do you think it will be a while even with fuel prices now for biodiesel to slide in. How much would it take to start using our own home grown fuel rather than from the Middle East or somewhere.

I talked to a guy at AG Land co-op in New Philadelphia (OH) a few weeks ago. He said that if I could buy 7500 gals of bio, it would be around $1.75/gal. I am considering starting a private co-op. If I ran an ad in the paper to get 20 or so diesel fuel buyers interested, it might be worth it. You need to use it within 6 months, so you would need to have quite a few people using it to use that much in half a year. We could pool our resources to buy a tank and meter.

I'm not sure what it is up here at Sunrise since I haven't stopped there in a while. I hope something starts coming about here in the next few years.

Hello fellow Ohioan's, I'm originally from the Mansfield Oh area. Willie Nelson and some others went together to start selling Biodiesel in TX. I like the idea of a co-op. How do Co-op's work would you sell the fuel at cost? Could the general public buy from the co-op for a slight price increase, thus better utilzing the facilaties? There are a lot of diesel's here in Alaska, but I'm not sure how BioD would work here given the extreme temps in the winter. My #1 gelled at -51f this past January. She was raw!

-51f, That's cold now 6.6Flylow. I'd like to come up to Alaska sometime just to see what it's like up there.

Well come on and we'll go for some kings this june. Contrary to popular belief it does get warm here especially here in the interior. The snow is melting and it's been in the 40's in the afternoons here in Fairbanks. The cold winters make the summer all the more enjoyable, you can't beat camping in the land of the mid-night sun!!

We went to AK in August of '03. Pulled a small 5ver and had a blast. Would love to go back some day. My bio supplier said that B20 is good to about 10° F. You could run it straight if you had heated tank and lines.
