Does anyone make a 4" lift that you can still run the stock rims with 285's? Thanks

I'm going to be putting 285s on mine in the next month... I'll be sure to post pics. I already test fit my 285 spare on stock rim and it fits, it is pretty close to the a arm, but I'm sure I won't have issues.

I called and talked to Cognito about a month ago and they said it would not work. They said the tire would rub. So if someone has done it without tire rub I would like to know. Thanks

Tire would rub what? Lots of guys run 285's at stock height. Hell I trimmed mine and stuffed 35's with a leveling kit.

Ummmmm, guys, check post #2. It's not a photochop!! LOL. Trust me, it works with room to spare. Cognito is one of, if not the only that will allow it, but it DOES work. I plowed snow that way too............no issues whatsoever.

I don't believe the cognito lift is a spindle lift, it should work fine with no rubbing. My fabtech wouldn't work because of the new spindle.

Thanks goth2o. Sorry I didn't look at your picture that close to notice that you did have the same rims as mine. I wonder why the tec guys at Cognito said it wouldn't work?

Lol, it's all good. Not sure why they said that. It was a concern of mine b/c I didn't have tires at first for my 20's. I thought of it while it was in the middle of the lift being installed. I didn't want it to be stranded on a rack at the shop! Talked to NorCal and they said no problem as far as they knew. I had my doubts, but I picked it up that way and used the truck like that for a few weeks before getting my new tires. Looking underneath, it wasn't even close.

Reading through some old posts. I had 265/75/16 on stock wheels that I stuck o after putting on the cognito 4-6". I took them off to put on my good wheels and they had been rubbing. I checked them and they rub when you turn the wheel the whole way to the left or to the right. So with atleast my truck the stock rims and tires do rub with the cognito kit.
