Put the AFE stage 2 with the metal tube on my 2001 and holy crap the turbo whistle out if it now is crazy it sounds like a friggin semi. i have to say i am really impressed dont really notice a power increase though

I bought a cd with bird sounds, 7.95, had the same results.

I just put mine on last night. I've heard that it doesn't do much for HP gains and the EGT's are down a little, but the whistle is worth it IMO. :bling:

I just added a MAC intake to mine and I can actually tell it accelerates smoother and shifts smoother...I.E. better throttle response, or turbo response I guess. I installed it right before I filled up so I am hoping to see a mileage improvement, but not banking on it.

the whistle is pretty cool and there is a seat of the pants difference. if the mileage goes up I'll post it

Ya paid 500 canadian and it was well worth it for the turbo alone

gtech gave me a 15hp gain over the 1/4mile, done one hour before it was installed, also noticed the turbo spool quicker(grab rubber on 285) compared to before, and i posted it as well without beleif:cool:

I noticed no difference at the track btw a AFE and a stocker with a hot juice witch is why it was really supprised to see my truck down close to 20hp when I swaped to the stocker on the dyno for grins. Actually the numbers didnt supprise me since as soon as the run started i noticed less boost than with the AFE. I also run a couple psi less on the street.

It all about the TUBE. Cool intake tube... looks good... I added the AFE, the 4" exhaust and Edge at setting 3 all in the same day. HUGE difference...I got the Whistle, the power and a few more MPG to boot.:grd:

On the metal intake from AFE does it eliminate the reservoir box or must you still hook it up? I just got my AFE and it came with an ABS tube... According to AFE the metal tube would sometimes flex and move and would have problems with it:confused: Anyhow, the ABS tube still needs the reservoir hooked up. Does it need to stay hooked up or can I just cap that area off?

i have an o1 and it didnt have the resevoir box so i cant help you there

You can cap if off if you want. We just got a load of the last of the metal intake tube LB7 AFE Pro Guard 7 intake systems for the LB7's, there will be no more per AFE. For those that want the extra whistle and want a bargain, give us a call. Good Gosh i am anxious for my ups package,Tracked it today it has landed in Seattle just one more day to make it North and it will be in my greedy little hands:cool2: Now to come up with a plan to get it installed and get the hood locked down b4 the wife comes home:D Anyhow I just had to share my excitment with you all.

Intakes and exhaust do not always show up on a dyno, because there is not enough air flow while setting still, but going down the road there should be a difference. I know with my truck, there was a huge difference with turbo boost. According to the G-Tech Pro Comp, the Banks monster exhaust and AFE stage II knocked of about 11/100 in the 1/4, and 7/100 in the 0-60 time. This was done while using propane on stock tires, and no other mods.

Just got mine today! I will install it tomorrow.:ro)
