Anyway to tell if you have done damage to engine if you had diesel in the crank?
Dealer has my truck and is replacing all 8 injectors. He said engine is OK but I'm not sure if he is telling me the truth. Is there anyway to tell ,and also if there was damage due to a bad injector would it be covered under warranty.

Good question slayer, i'm at the same point as you right now. All 8 being replaced, lots of fuel in the pan.

Seems to me that hot idle oil pressure would be the first indicator of a problem, assuming the same brand and viscosity of oil. If there is substantia damage, the pressure should be lower.

As I recall, one recommendation was to have oil analysis performed over the next several oil changes, and pay particular attention to the metal results.

I had the same problem on my 2001 at 75K. They said 'no-problem'. Blew a head gasket at 110K. I do not know if they are related issues. My Dad said that in the army they used to pour diesel in the crank & drive for a while to clean it out before an oil change.

-:t "this is a copy of the post i made last year.."
Mine ran till 215k then 1 injector, 225k 2 injectors, around 230k all injectors,at 282 motor went kaboom!! 02, bone stock. I believe due to the fact that every time an injector went bad, it dumped fuel in the oil, the bearings finally gave up. Put a new engine in in Jan. & now have 90k on it . Total on the Ally is 372k. Hope you make longer than I did Jeep. If it dumps fuel in oil, do not believe them when they say "it wont hurt anything". Ever use diesel to wash grease off your hands or take rust off of tools??!!! Dont believe it lubricates very well.

-:t To add to this, every time there was an injector failure with fuel dumped into the oil, the oil pressure was reduced (read bearing failure) when the motor finally went there was almost no oil pressure & metal shavings in the oil.
