Poor truck had a ride on a flat bed tonight, Its an 05 D/A with 36k on the clock, no mods. Came to a stop sign tonight and it stalled, tried top restart with no luck. It had no codes come up? Give me your guess.

If there are no light or anything, it could be the crank sensor.

I would have pumped the fuel filter first.

Well, it's the crank sensor system, two of the three small bolts the hold the cog wheel to the crank fell out  ( they fell down in the oil pan ). This allowed the wheel to drop out of place. With out the proper reading from the crank sensor nothing works. Mr goodwrench dropped the front diff. to drop the pan to get out the two missing bolts. All work is covered under warranty, Happy about that. :) Should get the truck back Tuesday ( they had to ordered new bolts, cog wheel, sensor, and gaskets ). Thanks all who responded :ro)

WTF loss of speed signal doesn't trip a CEL, or a code?

The dealer read a code, but I had nothing on the info center, or no check engine stuff

How the hell does no signal from a crank sensor not trigger a DTC? Crap like this makes me want strangle an engineer.

I bet it did trigger a DTC, but it was a soft code. No check engine light. ;)

As he stated ,it did. I guess I should have been more clear. Why would someone designing these things not think it was a good idea to trip the MIL when there is a crank sensor issue. I guess they just figure you're gonna get it checked out if it doesn't start.
