I just bought a 04 D/A and it has been in the shop for 8 days and I have had it 7 days. When I get it back I plan on putting nicktane filter system. This is also my first diesel and I am not sure why it is important to measure your exhaust temp?

If you plan on heavy towing or modifying your truck performance wise it is a good idea to monitor your Boost Pressure and EGT's.


High Exhaust Temps will melt things if they go too high for too long.


The easiest place is to mount the probe in the Exhaust manifold,


I hope you get the truck fixed, unless you are having MOD's done first.
